Rarely have the folks who frequent the Slap Maxwell Test Facility and Fortified Broadcast Studios ever witnessed such giddiness, fellow babies. I sat at my detritus-strewn mixing desk, holding and caressing the bottle of London like it was a Genie pot. I knew of their love of quality tobacco juices, and I knew of his involvement with Want2Vape -- and knew also that if his name was affixed to something like this, it had to be beyond golden. The only thoughts running through my fevered mind was what sort of "London" blend would this be? Something like the dark, earthy (yet faintly sweet) "London Export" by Peter Stokkebye? Maybe some sort of English pipe blend, like the Dunhills, Davidoffs or Petersons? Well, there was only one way to find out.
My next door neighbor who was helping me set up a new mic preamp has seen me like this before and excused himself to go home. The lady who was here to record a voice-over with me asked if I was OK. "I hope so," I replied.
Twelve thin drops wound up inside a freshly wicked and coiled Phoenix, metered out at 1.8 ohm and resting atop a Vamo set for 9 watts. After taking in a long, slow draw, I was almost immediately taken back to sitting in my back garden in London on an early Saturday afternoon, springtime of 2004, sipping an Earl Grey and enjoying a pipe-full of Balkan Sobranie 759 given to me by one of my mates as a Christmas gift. This, my friends, is real tobacco goodness. There is nothing fake, half-assed or routine about this at all. You can taste the light sweetness of real Virginia slinking beneath the spicy smokiness of the Latakia and the aromatic richness of Oriental tobaccos. This was extremely satisfying on all levels. I couldn't wait to put some in a Chobra...and indeed, didn't wait at all.
With the Vamo at 10 watts & a 1.5 ohm coil/ss mesh wick, there was nothing else to do but feel like I was in heaven, fellow babies. The Phoenix was like a tease; the Chobra brought out all the natural goodness I described earlier and then some. The smokiness of the Latakia was exquisite but not over the top and had no tongue bite; the rich, ever-so-slightly herbal note from the Oriental was balanced perfectly by the sweet, mild Virginia. This is a rich medium-bodied blend that, were one to be blindfolded and given this in a JazzPipe, one would swear up one side and down the other this was a really tasty pipe tobacco and not some kind of nicquid. The room bouquet was slightly smoky and sweet...not offensive at all but not as heavy as real pipe tobacco smoke would be. The voice-over lady thought it smelled wonderful. The vapor was better than one would think from a 70/30 blend.
Wrap-up: I don't know what to say; this is probably the finest real tobacco e-juice I have ever tasted in 2 years of vaping. I've long favored NET juices, and this is one of the best there is in my mind. This may be too rich and too much like real tobacco for some people to be an all day vape, but not for me. This has won a new spot in my daily rotation -- and that's saying something. If you're not into the taste of honest-to-God real tobacco, this will not be for you. If, however, you are...then waste no time in getting a 10 ml bottle to try for yourself -- or jump right in for a 30. Is it pricey? Perhaps, but this takes vaping to a whole new level and is worth every penny.
